Washoe County Sheriff and Jail
The Washoe County Sheriff's Office, under Sheriff Darin Balaam, runs the Washoe County Detention Facility. The roster is online and refreshes every 15 minutes. For custody questions when a person cannot be found on the roster, call the Detention Facility direct.

County Clerk and Recorder
The Washoe County Clerk under Janis Galassini issues marriage licenses and keeps records for the Board of County Commissioners. The Recorder issues certified proof-of-marriage copies, deeds, and recorded liens.
